Johnson-Hall is the owner and operator of Goose Creek Publishers, Inc.
Mrs. Johnson-Hall is a 20-year veteran of the printing and publishing
industries. She began her career in printing in 1984 working for a full
commercial printer in Evanston, Illinois. In 1994, she began working
for a publishing company as a part-time office assistant. Within six
months she was promoted to office manager and began running the day-to-day
operations of the company.
Johnson-Hall is an award-winning writer whose first book of poetry,
You Can Be, was published in 1992. Her second book of poetry,
I Am Not A Poet, was published in January of 2003. In October
of 2003, Goose Creek Publishers released her autobiography, Telling
the Truth and Shaming the Devil. She has written a monthly column
for Today’s Woman Magazine for seven years and has written
for several local magazines and newsweeklies.
Mrs. Johnson-Hall holds a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and an Associates
Degree in Liberal Arts, concentrating in Journalism. She currently works
the third shift as a Youth Counselor at a local residential home for
girls. She is an actress, director, playwright and public speaker. She
made her film debut in a short experimental film titled Labels, in July
of 2003. She has given numerous speeches to organizations throughout
the Kentuckiana region including the National Council for Negro Women,
Project Women, and at Seven Counties.
From the time she was 10 years old, Mrs. Johnson-Hall has wanted to
write and publish herself and others. Believing her voice and style
was unique, she feels strongly that there are many who deserve to be
published, but may be rejected by traditional publishing houses, therefore
needing to seek alternative avenues for getting their work into print.
“I am a champion for the unpublished writer. I believe those who
have talent and the will to write should be able to have an outlet for
their work. It is my desire to help others realize their publishing
dreams.”
